Orata Marine brand Pacific Oysters
3 February 2017: Orata Marine Ltd is recalling its Pacific Oysters (pottle and half shell) sold on or after 14 January 2017 as the product may be affected by a recent norovirus contamination event in the Mahurangi Harbour.

Orata Marine brand Pacific Oysters in Pottle is sold in a 200g or 300g clear plastic pottle.
The products are sold in the Matakana Village Farms market (every Saturday between 8am until 1pm) and the following retail outlets in the Auckland Region:
The product has not been exported.
This recall does not affect any other Orata Marine branded products or any other products sold by Orata Marine Ltd.
Affected products should not be consumed. There have been associated reports of norovirus illness in New Zealand. Norovirus gastroenteritis generally presents with vomiting followed by diarrhoea. People who believe they have eaten affected oysters to see their GP if symptoms are severe or persistent or if they are unable to keep hydrated.
Customers should return the products to their retailer for a full refund.
